Limelight Theatre Board To Present Sixth Annual “Celebrity Cabaret”

St. Augustine, Florida -- For the sixth year in a row, the Board of Directors of the Limelight Theatre will present the Celebrity Cabaret, a fund-raiser featuring well-known residents of St. Augustine in a rollicking musical revue. Community, civic and business leaders will be on stage, lip syncing the lyrics to Broadway show tunes, rock and roll and the latest hip musical numbers – all in full costume and cleverly choreographed. This year’s Cabaret will take place on November 14, 15, 16, and 17 (because performances are always sold out, a fourth night has been added). The theme for this year’s Cabaret will be “Guys and Gals – A Parody of Love and Relationships.”
In keeping with the “Guys and Gals” theme, serving as Masters of Ceremonies for the event will be Tracy and Beth Upchurch. Beth Lambert will direct, and Elaine Smith is Assistant Director. Choreographers are Beth Lambert, Linda Mignon, Elaine Smith, Rachel Robertson, and Lynnette Wadsworth. Co-chairs of the event are Linda Matuza and Elaine Kopf. The cast will consist of over 60 area personalities – representing a broad cross section of the community – appearing in 18 hilarious acts.
The evening, which has become known as St. Augustine’s most FUN fund-raiser, will kick off with a cocktail party at 7 p.m. with open bar (throughout the evening) and hors d’oeuvres catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. The curtain rises at 8 p.m. and intermission will feature the ongoing open bar, desserts catered by Marsh Creek Country Club, a 50-50 drawing and door prizes. This year’s grand prize, donated by Flamingo Travel, is a five-day Caribbean Cruise for two on March 31-April 5, 2008. Other door prizes include two nights at the Hilton Historic Bayfront Inn and dinner for two at the Aviles Restaurant; dinner for two with wine at the Serenata Beach Club; dinner for two at La Cocina; and photo artwork by Nancy Grasso.
