Auditions: Once On This Island

AUDITION DETAILS:

Audition Date – Friday, March 4th, 2026 (starting at 10:00am)

Callbacks – TBD

WHAT TO PREPARE:

Please prepare a 32-bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your sheet music with clear, legible markings for the accompanist.

Callbacks may include movement, rhythm, and group-acting exercises. Please dress comfortably and be prepared to move.

ROLES AVAILABLE:

Ti Moune (Female/Soprano)
A spirited, compassionate young peasant girl who believes deeply in the power of love. Requires strong vocals, emotional depth, and physical storytelling.

Daniel Beauxhomme (Male/Tenor)
A wealthy young man from the upper class whose life is saved by Ti Moune. Requires strong vocals and a romantic presence.

Mama Euralie (Female/Mezzo-Soprano)
Ti Moune’s loving adoptive mother. Requires warmth, strong vocals, and emotional connection.

Papa Ge (Male/Baritone)
A charismatic storyteller and protector figure who guides the audience through the tale. Strong presence and narrative clarity required.

Agwe (Any Gender/Tenor or Mezzo-Soprano)
The god of water, smooth and alluring. Requires strong vocals and fluid movement.

Asaka (Female/Alto)
The earth mother goddess, nurturing and powerful. Requires rich vocals and grounded physicality.

Erzulie (Female/Soprano)
The goddess of love, beautiful and elegant with emotional intensity. Strong vocal control required.

Tonton Julian (Male/Baritone)
A commanding storyteller and elder figure within the community. Requires strong acting and vocal presence.

Andrea Deveraux (Female/Mezzo-Soprano)
A privileged young woman promised to Daniel. Requires poise, vocal strength, and dramatic contrast.

Armand (Male/Baritone)
Andrea’s commanding father. Strong authority and acting presence required.

Ensemble:
Villagers, storytellers, and spirits of the island. Strong singers and movers with rhythm and ensemble focus encouraged.
