In this action-packed allegory that warns of the dangers of nationalistic fervor, mob mentality, and the rise of destructive political forces, a provincial village is overrun by rhinoceroses. The audience is greeted by the narrator, Man in Chair, sitting on a darkened stage and who decides to play for the audience his favorite musical, the fictional 1928 show “The Drowsy Chaperone”. SEASON 33
Once on This Island is a Musical that tells the mythical story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl on a Caribbean island, who falls in love with a wealthy, light-skinned boy named Daniel. As their cultures divide them, Ti Moune undertakes a quest guided by the island's gods—Agwé, Erzulie, Asaka, and Papa Ge—who make a bet on whether love or death will triumph. The story offers a tale of love, loss, and the triumph of the human spirit against social barriers and fate.
A vibrant, contemporary musical inspired by the Gospel of Matthew. Framed as a group of strangers who come together to form a joyful community, the show blends storytelling, comedy, and song to explore themes of love, compassion, forgiveness, and faith.
What begins as polite conversation quickly unravels into escalating insults, exposed hypocrisies, and childish behavior. The dark comedy, God of Carnage, satirizes modern civility, exposing how thin the veneer of social decorum truly is when pride and principle collide.
A witty, fast-paced musical revue that takes a humorous and heartfelt look at modern love in all its stages-from awkward first dates to long marriages.
Written by Charles Strouse, “Annie” is a musical about an optimistic little orphan girl named Annie living during the 1930s Great Depression and who is taken from her bleak orphanage by billionaire Oliver Warbucks to lead a search for her birth parents, all the while avoiding the sabotage of the evil orphanage mistress, Miss Hannigan.
Written by Thornton Wilder, “Our Town” explores the simple, everyday lives of the residents of the fictional American town, Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, between 1901 and 1913. WHEN ALL THE SAINTS ARE GATHERED... is a World Premiere Staged Reading by Playwright Nikki Tooms. Set in St. Augustine, Florida, at the height of the Civil Rights Movement. It follows the journey of five students eager to contribute to the fight for justice. While the national movement is often defined by figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Ralph Abernathy, this story focuses on those who were the boots on the ground—leaders like Dr. Robert Hayling, who risked everything for the cause. Through the students' eyes, we witness their training, their fears, and their triumphs as they prepare for sit-ins, marches, and wade-ins, facing violent backlash at every turn. The play highlights pivotal historical moments, such as the loss of the NAACP charter, the Klan’s attack on Dr. Hayling’s home, and the attempted assassination inside his dental office. The arrival of Dr. King further shifts the movement’s momentum, but the play does not shy away from showing how local leaders like Hayling sacrificed their safety and livelihoods for the movement. Each student, guided by Hayling's mantra, “Never give up,” takes a different path. Their journey will challenge the audience to examine what it truly means never to give up.
