WHAT TO PREPARE:

Auditions will consist of Cold Readings from the Script. Callbacks will consist of more Cold Readings from the script.

ROLES AVAILABLE:

BURTON MOCK (Male, Late 30's/Early 40’s)

Proprietor of Mock's General Store and Shallowford's postmaster; calm and good-natured.

RUTHIE MOCK‍ ‍(Female, 17)

Burton's daughter; pretty and romantic, she helps out in the store but longs for excitement and adventure.

LONNY HUTCHINS (Male, 17)

A shy, intelligent dreamer and an avid reader of science fiction magazines.

CLUNETTE CAMPBELL (Male, Late 30’s)

A regular at "Mock's;" opinionated, excitable, a gossip, and a complainer.

ROY SPRINKLE (Male, 70’s)

Called "Mr. Roy" by everyone; he is a veteran raconteur with a sly sense of humor; lost an arm during the Spanish-American War.

DEWEY SOWERS (Male, 17)

A tall, strapping, and handsome young man; he is the local football hero and brags to hide his awkwardness.

NEWSOME JARVIS (Male, 50’s)

A silent, mysterious, and reclusive farmer; he is the kind of man town gossips love.

"DOODAD" JARVIS (Male, 20’s)

Newsome's son; extremely slow-witted.

FRED MARTIN (Male, 30’s)

Well-dressed, refined, and a trifle effeminate; organist and choir director at the local Methodist Church.
