Written by Thornton Wilder, “Our Town” explores the simple, everyday lives of the residents of the fictional American town, Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, between 1901 and 1913. The play is narrated by a metaphysical character, titled the “Stage Manager”, and focuses on the Gibbs and Webb families, particularly the developing relationship between their children, George Gibbs and Emily Webb. It addresses the themes of life, love, death, and the importance of appreciating the present moment.
