REAL-LIFE MARRIED COUPLE DIRECTS LIMELIGHT THEATRE’S VALENTINE-PERFECT HIT
I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change Opens January 29
Starring Facia Lee, Mitchell Wohl, Emily Layt & Noah Peacock
St. Augustine, Fla., Jan. 20, 2026 — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Limelight Theatre invites audiences to laugh, swoon and see themselves in the wildly relatable musical revue I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, running Jan. 29–Feb. 15, 2026, in historic St. Augustine.
Adding a charming real-life twist, the production is directed by husband-and-wife team Daniel and Heather Starling, whose own marriage brings authenticity, humor and heartfelt insight to a show that hilariously dissects dating, commitment, and the beautiful mess of modern relationships.
“It’s impossible not to recognize ourselves in this material,” said the Starlings. “Being married while directing a musical about love, compromise and miscommunication has made this production especially meaningful — and even funnier.”
The high-energy ensemble cast features Facia Lee, Mitchell Wohl, Emily Layt and Noah Peacock, each portraying dozens of characters as they journey from awkward first dates to enduring marriages in a series of witty, fast-paced vignettes that celebrate love in all its unpredictable forms.
With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is one of the longest-running off-Broadway musicals of all time, beloved for its smart humor, infectious score and uncanny ability to make audiences laugh at the realities of romance.
Running through Valentine’s weekend, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is the perfect reason to turn a night at the theatre into a full St. Augustine date experience. Limelight’s hotel and restaurant ambassadors — including DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District, Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Raintree Restaurant and Smokin’ D’s BBQ — offer memorable dining and overnight options to pair with the show for a romantic evening in the nation’s oldest city.
